AI-Powered Debate Training Material Intern (Unpaid)

Program Description:

For the summer of 2024, at the Sharon Sharko Speech and Debate Foundation (3SDF), we are excited to offer an enriching unpaid internship designed to integrate the dynamic fields of AI technology, specifically through the use of Synthesia Studio, with the educational domain of debate training. This initiative aims to provide interns with a comprehensive, hands-on experience that complements their academic and educational pursuits, targeting individuals with a keen interest in technology, education, and debate.

Internship Benefits and Learning Opportunities:

  • Engage in an internship experience that reflects the depth and rigor of academic training, with a specific focus on the application of AI in educational content creation.
  • Play a role in the development of groundbreaking debate training materials using Synthesia Studio, gaining valuable experience in AI-driven content production.
  • Work alongside seasoned professionals to craft engaging and accessible debate education resources, enhancing skills in research, content creation, and innovative educational technology use.

Program Structure:

  • This internship is structured to place the educational development of the intern at the forefront, offering a fertile environment for both personal and professional growth in the realms of AI and debate education.
  • Interns will complement, not replace, existing staff, receiving close supervision and contributing to the Foundation’s projects in a role that emphasizes educational over operational outcomes.
  • The Foundation commits to fostering a supportive educational setting, allowing interns to observe and participate in the creation of AI-powered training materials, underpinning the understanding that their engagement is fundamentally for educational purposes.
  • This is 100% remote.

Expectations:

  • The Sharon Sharko Speech and Debate Foundation regards the intern as the primary beneficiary of this internship, ensuring that the tasks and activities are designed to provide substantial educational benefits.
  • Acknowledging that the internship’s primary aim is the intern’s educational advancement, it’s understood that their involvement may not directly benefit the Foundation’s operations and might, at times, cause minor disruptions, highlighting the educational nature of the internship.
  • There is no promise or expectation of employment at the Foundation upon the internship’s conclusion.
  • Both the Foundation and the intern recognize that this is an unpaid internship, reaffirming our mutual dedication to advancing educational opportunities in the field of debate education through the innovative application of AI technology.
